I fell in love with dragons, moved by a sf writer named Anne McCaffrey whose Dragonriders of Pern books transported me from Queens, NY in the 20th century to another world, society and relationship to environment. I read and dreamt dragons decades before they began to appear in movies, not counting their Godzilla incarnation. The Luck Dragon of Neverending Story, DragonHeart, Eragon, Miyazaki’s Haku (Spirited Away), Drogon, of GOT* and, through a friend’s son, Toothless of HTTYD, rekindled my affection.

The dragon is slightly dimensional, approximately 15" long and 3" wide when made of cotton thread. The red and blue dragons are made of fingering weight wool.

You may use any yarn weight you choose, but recommend that you choose a hook one or two sizes smaller than usual for that yarn and work tightly.

You may also choose to create a brooch by creating a dragon with a shorter tail.
This dragon would make a great gift for many occasions.
